Rhoen Farmhouse
The lovingly restored farmhouse from the early 20th century is situated in Hausen, in the middle of the Unesco Biosphere Reserve Rhön region. With 5.5 rooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 WCs, kitchen and coffee kitchen it is distributed on 135 square meters, fully equipped. It invites you to a relaxing stay for 2 to 8 persons.
The house is located at the foot of the high plateau "Lange Rhön" on the Franconian side of the border triangle Hesse, Bavaria, Thuringia. The extra high roof of the residential gallery offer a pleasant living atmosphere even for tall guests. Natural building materials, such as reed interior insulation, old plank floors and wooden windows ensure a pleasant indoor climate. Refurbished, original Rhoen region farm furniture from the neighbouring villages - combined with modern components - underline the cosy and authentic ambience.
On the ground floor there are 2 bedrooms (16 m2 and 10 m2), a small living room (12 m2), a coffee kitchen, a WC and a bathroom with bathtub. On the 1st floor you will find a spacious and bright living/dining gallery (30 m2). A ladder leads from the living/dining gallery to the sleeping gallery (approx. 20 m2 floor area less slopes). The fully equipped kitchen is followed by the very spacious, modern bathroom with a walk-in shower. Another bedroom is available on this floor as well.
Since there is a WC and a bathroom on each floor, there is enough space and comfort for 2 families.
The whole house is a non-smoking house.
Furniture
On the ground floor both bedrooms are equipped with king size double beds (1.8 m x 2 m and 1.6 m x 2 m). In one bedroom and in the living gallery there are two farmhouse writing desks.
A small coffee kitchen, a separate toilet and a bath with tub complete the lower floor. The washing machine is also accommodated here. The laundry could be hung up on the roofed terrace next to the coffee kitchen.
On the first floor there is a large double bed (1.8 m x 2 m) in the bedroom and on the gallery. The living gallery is equipped with a sofa corner, a desk and a large dining table with sideboard.
The kitchenette is fully equipped with dishwasher, ceramic hob with 4 plates, oven and a freezer/cooler combination. Sufficient cooking utensils, crockery and glasses are available.
Family-friendly furnishings are guaranteed thanks to a high chair and a travel cot with changing mat. Other features include satellite TV, DVD player & DVDs, Wlan, compact Bluetooth system, smoke detector, vacuum cleaner and a small barbecue. All sleeping pillows and blankets are suitable for allergy sufferers.
The covered wooden terrace and the sunny front garden invite you to linger outside. The larger outdoor area can also be used for BBQ. Parking spaces are available in or in front of the barn and next to the barn, so that 3 cars can be easily parked. A charging station is available for electric cars.

The house is bookable from 3 overnight stays onwards. The final cleaning amounts to 75.- Euro. 30.- Euro flat rate for dogs. 10% discount from 7 nights. Shorter stays - like weekends - after consultation. Prepayment is requested.

Be inspired by the region
The Franconian Hausen is a model community in the Unesco Biosphere Reserve Rhön. Hausen is about 140 km away from Frankfurt am Main. From here it is an ideal regional holiday destination. It is also suitable for a long weekend with children due to the manageable travel time.
In Hausen there is a baker or mom-and-pop store, which is only 50 m away from the house. Further shopping possibilities for daily needs, a butcher's shop, a supermarket or a pharmacy can be found in Fladungen, Nordheim and Ostheim.
A children's playground, football pitch and the 'Hausener Streuobstwiesenpfad' are within walking distance. In summer there are many village festivals, farmers' markets and open-air events in the area. The town of Hausen also offers an annual summer holiday program.
At the old railway station of Fladungen, the open-land museum with its historic inn invites you to visit it. On the museum grounds there is a small farmhouse parlour where you can eat and drink snacks.
The inviting Rhön farm shop, which sells regional products from direct marketers, is also located at the station.
Beautiful hikes, winter walks, mountain bike and bicycle tours can be started directly from the farmhouse. There is something for everyone from light to more demanding profiles and the generally sparse traffic in the area makes this a great pleasure. There are also excursions to Fulda, Wasserkuppe, Kreuzberg, the red and black moor or to health resorts like Bad Neustadt.
Sports enthusiasts will get their money's worth here because of the various degrees of difficulty in hiking, jogging and cycling. In summer you can also use the outdoor pool in Fladungen. If you want to take it easier, just enjoy the peace and the beautiful nature with its rare animal, silence and plant species, orchards in the partly untouched former border area.
In winter the Hochrhön offers a very good network of cross-country skiing trails. The Rother Kuppe is not far away and is suitable for sledging.

1. Getting there from the west, please take the A66. Then follow the A7 towards Fulda and take the exit Fulda/Mitte. Follow the signs to Meiningen/Fladungen. At the black moor turn right towards Bischofsheim. After approx. 1km follow the signs to the left in the direction of Hausen.
2. Getting there from the north / south, please teke the A7. Take the exit Fulda/Mitte. Follow the signs to Meiningen/Fladungen. At the black moor, turn right towards Bischofsheim. After approx. 1km follow the signs to the left in the direction of Hausen.
The departure should be done until 11 clock, so we can guarantee each guest an optimal transfer.
